Next week Omaha-based singer/songwriter Laura Burhenn brings her solo outing, The Mynabirds, to the Hi-Tone. After a year on the road with Bright Eyes, Burheen resurrected the Mynabirds to record her sophomore effort Generals for Saddle Creek Records. The album has a deep, rhythmic pop vibe anchored by heavyily layered, socially aware vocals. Here’s the video for the title track:
