Wayne Hancock is a master of the honky tonky country blues. Taking after the such legends as Jimmie Rodgers and Hank Williams, Hancock has crafted his own unique sound within the framework of a long-crowded genre.
Tonight, Hancock is performing at the Hi-Tone Cafe. He’s also bringing Ohio blues guitarist Patrick Sweany along with him. Sweany’s sound is more blues than country (which is quite evident in his performance of “Pecan Trees” in the video below), but the two artists are a perfect fit.
The Wild Feathers residency keeps a-rollin’ tonight! This week the band is sharing the stage with Austin, Tx psych rock band Modrag. For more info on Wild Feathers check out our initial post. 8pm, $5.
